What is AXS? Axie Infinity Token.
Axie Infinity Shards (AXS) is an ERC-20 governance token for the Axie Universe. Gameplay Axie Infinity (AXS)
Axie Infinity is structured as an open digital pet universe. The Axie core team will create functionality for game assets associated with the Axie brand in conjunction with the community.
The Axie universe must be fun above all else; only by having an immersive gaming experience can the ecosystem attract enough participants to accumulate value in the network.
- BATTLES:
In October 2018, the Axie core team released the first battle system built on Axie game assets. The battle system was structured as an “idle battle” system inspired by games like “Final Fantasy Tactics” and “Idle Heroes”.
The Axie team began developing the real-time card battle app and system in March 2019 and released an Alpha in December 2019. As of October 2020, the app has amassed over 15,000 downloads with over 7,000 users’ weekly assets.
Just as Pokémon has gone through numerous iterations and types of battle systems, we also expect Axie to have many variations of battles in the years to come.

- TOURNAMENTS AND ESPORTS:
Due to its competitive skill-based nature, the Axie Battle System is a good fit for competitive gaming and esports. We believe this is a critical aspect for future growth, and we have seen how engaged players become when money is on the line.
Axie players have already won thousands of dollars worth of crypto through numerous tournaments hosted by the core team or third-party sponsors.
- WORLD:
Lunacia, Axie’s homeland, is divided into symbolic parcels of land that act as homes and bases of operations for his Axies. Plots can be upgraded over time using various resources and crafting ingredients that can be found while playing the game.
Additionally, landowners can find AXS tokens on their land parcels or use the axes that occupy the land parcel to explore resource nodes on the map. Axies can find AXS and potentially other resources by interacting with resource nodes.
Gathering and Crafting Resources
Resources will spawn at nodes in Lunacia and will be used to upgrade bothLandd and axes.
Landowners will have the first rights to any resource generated on their Landd.
Real-Time PvE Battles
Monsters called Chimera are terrorizing Lunacia. Players will face Chimera in real-time battles, either alone or in groups. Chimera will drop various resources, items, and blueprints used to upgrade theLandd and individual Axes.
Additional details about theLandd will be released in time.
Lunacia consists of 90,601 parcels ofLandd. These parcels ofLandd are represented as non-fungible tokens and can be freely traded by players.
The running game is still being actively developed and will be released in phases.
Phase one is the game mentioned above, and phase two will focus on turning Lunacia into a virtual world focusing on user-generated content. Players will be able to create games using the Lunacia SDK and place these games onLandd they own.
- PET BREEDING:
Just like real-world pets, Axies can be bred to create new offspring. To prevent hyperinflation of Axies, there is a maximum number of times an Axie can be bred before it becomes sterile.
Breeding an Axie costs 2 AXS and some Mild Love Potions, depending on how many times the Axies have been produced.
Genetics
Each Axie has 6 body parts as well as a body shape. For each part, an Axie has 3 genes. A dominant (D), recessive (R1) and minor recessive (R2) gene.
The dominant gene is what determines the body part that is physically present in the Axie. During reproduction, each gene has a chance of being passed on to offspring:
Dominant (D): 37.5% chance of passing this gene to offspring.
Recessive (R1): 9.375% chance of passing this gene to offspring.
Minor Recessive (R2): 3.125% chance of passing this gene to offspring.

To breed, simply go to the page of one of your Axies by clicking on it through your inventory.

How long does it take for an Axie to become an adult?
Axies take 5 days to reach maturity.
After 5 days, you can transform your egg into an adult Axie and see the Axie genes.

growth is an important factor within the Axie ecosystem. There is an ideal inflation rate that allows us to grow to our full potential at any given time. Axie prices are too slow and too high for ordinary people to join; Especially competitive Axies. Too fast, and you’ll get unhealthy inflation.

They are adding additional utility to Axies through new experiences such asLandd, mini-games. This also adds utility to Axies beyond their effectiveness on quick targets.

The axes themselves can be “released” to obtain these crafting ingredients. This creates a long-term supply sink for the Axie population. Axie’s progression will come in the future, and it promises to create a much stronger bond between trainers and the Hubs they choose to upgrade.
The Soulbound Axies that are competitive in the arena will allow anyone to compete and have fun without paying much. There is no pay to win this game. Though the earning potential for these soulbound Axies should be zero or close to zero; which means that, of course, the demand for strong “royal” Battle Axes will remain. Also, keep in mind that demand for Axies is ultimately what also drives demand for SLPs (and AXS), so creating more reasons to own Axies and making it easier for us to grow is important in a healthy economy.
